Electronic Check Payment Processing (ACH) The Automated Clearing House (ACH) is an electronic payment network used by individuals, businesses, financial institutions, and government organizations. Electronic ACH payments provide more efficient cash management capabilities and lower costs than traditional paper payments. BillingTree's ACH-processing gateway creates a NACHA approved ACH-formatted file of payment transactions generated by an BillingTree payment solution (for example Web Payments, Tel Payments, Hosted IVR, etc...) or another payment-capture solution already being used. The ACH-formatted payment file is submitted to the ACH-Payment Processing Network for electronic processing and prompt payment. BillingTree's suite allows merchants to integrate directly with their current software or batch upload commonly formatted files (comma- or tab-delimited) that contain transaction details to be processed by the system. This process allows the merchant to process transactions without having to key in every single transaction manually. Most important, this feature allows the BillingTree Gateway to exchange information with most popular accounts-receivable packages, meaning that all accounts-receivable information remains current automatically.
